Hi, thank you for visiting my website! I’m a University of Washington graduate with a passion for sports, data analysis, and helping others. On the Annual Dean's List for high scholarship, I majored in International Studies and minored in Political Science. I am a San Francisco native set to begin my Master's in Sports Management at the University of San Francisco in July 2021. I am fluent in Spanish and French, and my interests include history, current events and public policy, strategic games, reading, traveling, and music.

College

University of Washington  |  Annual Dean's List high-scholarship award recipient

International Studies Major with a minor in Political Science. I'm interested in entering the worlds of social and environmental advocacy, international policy, foreign relations, law, and business.

Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco  |  2011-2015

Coursework included a doubled humanities track that emphasized analytic writing and creative thinking. The school is a "private school with a public purpose" and has a tradition of valuing and integrating the liberal arts, sciences, technical and visual arts (head, heart, hands).

Summer Intensive

Stanford Summer Humanities Institute, Stanford University  |  June, 2014

Led by Stanford professors, this rigorous course focused on revolutions throughout history. It culminated in a research paper, The Destruction of Unity in the Iranian and Egyptian Revolutions.

French-American International School  |  2002-2011

With its "world citizen" perspective, I studied both U.S. system and French Collége curricula and became fluent in French and Spanish. I formally studied languages abroad in Guatemala and France and travelled to Canada and Spain. The school emphasized global citizenship and service learning.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Look What I Did  |  June, 2020 - present 

Driven by a desire to create positive change in our community during the pandemic, our company focuses on providing free art projects, activities, and resources to children, parents, and teachers. Our extensive assortment of community projects brings people together to share and collaborate in meaningful ways. We supply non-profit organizations in Seattle and San Francisco with physical kits in English and Spanish to reach children without internet access. Our website is updated daily with fresh content and attracts visitors from around the world.

Office of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell  |  January, 2020 - June, 2020

I served as the first point of contact for Washington constituents for U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell’s Seattle office. My responsibilities included communicating with federal agencies, fielding constituent requests, and assisting caseworkers with their duties to the public.

World Affairs Council, Greater Seattle Area  |  September, 2019 - present 

I am currently serving a two year board commitment on The World Affairs Council’s Young Professional International Network (YPIN), a diverse group of young people with a shared passion for the world around us. As a board member, I help host a wide range of networking and social events in and around Seattle, each with a unique international focus to help foster global understanding and collaboration. World Affairs Council and YPIN are non-partisan associations with a common goal of offering programs and providing forums for discussion of critical world issues.

Organized fellowships, speaking arrangements, and large events for internationally-engaged and influential world leaders. Worked on the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative to empower entrepreneurs and innovative civil society leaders from Latin America to strengthen their capacity to launch and advance their entrepreneurial ideas and effectively contribute to social and economic development in their communities. Helped 14 fellowship organizations host young entrepreneurs from Latin America. Programed the African Women's Entrepreneurial Program, an outreach, education, and engagement initiative that targets African women entrepreneurs to promote business growth and empower them to become voices of change in their communities.

Assigned the task of creating unique content analyzing the Oakland Athletics and Golden State Warriors, I helped create excitement and interest in the team among the SPORTalk community. My articles were selected as "Blog of the Week" multiple times and were circulated around Twitter via the company's official website. During this internship, I honed my analytical and writing skills and expanded my knowledge of multiple social media platforms.

Research & Analysis

University of Washington’s Athletic Program  |  Fall and Winter Quarters, 2015

Aided lead analytics assistant coach for the University of Washington Men’s Basketball team, in scouting opponents, watching game film, and creating comprehensive and analytically based scouting reports that were given to the players prior to games. During my time working with the team I developed analytical and communication skills and learned about the organization and structure of this top level Division 1 athletic program.

Eliot Smith’s Tiger Basketball Camp  |  Summer 2015 and 2016

Worked with youth in developing not only their basketball skills but also building self-confidence and "Champions find a way!" attitudes. This camp is directed by my long-time mentor Eliot Smith, the Athletic Director and Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Lick-Wilmerding High School. Coach Smith was my academic advisor and basketball coach at Lick-Wilmerding High School.
